Choosing your photo

Help with your photo

Choosing your basic photo
Some of the best results come from the most unlikely photos! There's no need to worry about the exact photo you'd like us to work with, you can email us a selection of your favourites and we'll let you know which one will provide the optimum result.

Pre-creative enhancements
This is part of our all-inclusive service - if your original image is not ‘perfect’, we will tidy it up, removing any obvious blemishes, red-eye or date stamps prior to the creative stage. We'll also crop the image to achieve the most appealing composition.

Information on your subject
You can email us with information about your subject and, of course, you are welcome to discuss your project with us before you place your order.

Choosing a Pop Art style
It's not absolutely nesessary for you to specify the 'style' of portrait you want as we find that each photo tends to lend itself to a particular style and composition. But feel free to tell us about your preferences and/or email us samples of the styles you like. You can also tell us which examples you like best in our Gallery... don't worry – we will always advise if your photo isn't going to translate to a particular style

Technical Guidelines

Image size
- Generally the bigger the file size the better. The best results are achieved using jpeg images with file sizes between 800KB - 9MB pictures taken using a mobile phone camera/digital camera with less than 4 mega-pixels are usually unsuitable.

- The maximum file size you can email us is 9MBs. If you have an image larger than 9MB, please burn it onto to CD and mail it to us (see contact page for our address).

Resolution
- 300 dpi is the optimum resolution, however less may be acceptable provided the 'file size' is big enough.
